Corbridge Music Festival
Festival Fever has come to Tynedale. Forget about Glastonbury the Corbridge Music Festival offers a band line up to rival those of many of the larger festivals around the Country. The Legend.... John Otway who regularly performs at Glastonbury, plus Glasto newcomers and Wylam boys Vinyl Jacket (pictured right) are just two of the top performers heading for Corbridge this year.
Athletes in Paris (pictured below) are a fresh and exciting combination of acoustic song-smithstry and up beat pop music. Hailing from Newcastle the pentagynous combo appeal to all who love good song writing and great music. The Festival isn't short of solo acoustic acts either: local lass Georgia Overton, a finalists in Britain's Got Talent last year, is showcasing her own music, followed by Tom Mitchell who's heritage is steeped in musical history with his Father Billy Mitchell fronting Tyneside band Lindisfarne, now making his own mark on the music world. Overall the day offers a chance to see a great musical mix from over 20 acts!

That's not all!. The Corbridge Festival doesn't forget the kids, with loads of children's activities organised to keep the little cherubs entertained. They will be greeted by stilt walkers, invited to /watch/participate in acrobatics and circus workshops, listen to story tellers, be captivated by magic acts and have loads of fun on the rodeo bull/inflatable slide/bouncy castle go karts and fairground rides - they will certainly not be bored!
The cherry on the proverbial cake comes in the form of a visit by two flamboyant eighteenth century fops parading around in all their finery. Swash and Buckle may just occasionally feel the urge to fight each other in a duel! Whom knows what will happen?
One thing's for sure - the Corbridge Festival has a line up of entertainment and activities which provides a spectacle of entertainment and great music for all ages, a day you just shouldn't miss! It might just be the highlight of your summer!
