Police appeal over Whittonstall theft

Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a horse box and trailer.

It was stolen on Wednesday between 11am and 2.15pm, while parked in a lay-by on the B6309 near to Whittonstall.

The horse box was an Iveco wagon, silver and blue, with the registration R722OTF.

The trailer was an Ifor Williams one, maroon with the registration MBM 1V.

Insp Kevin Oates, said: "Not long after the theft, we received a reported sighting of the wagon believed to be heading towards the Lanchester area. I'd appeal to anyone who thinks they may have seen the wagon to get in touch."
